The Role
- Building, developing, and ultimately leading the residential conveyancing department
- Managing a high-quality caseload of residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to post-completion
- Handling a broad range of transactions including freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity, new build matters, and shared ownership
- Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior conveyancers and support staff as the team grows
- Playing a key strategic role in departmental growth, recruitment, and business development
- Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with local estate agents, brokers, referrers, and clients across Harrogate and the surrounding areas
- Using the Proclaim case management system confidently and efficiently
- Ensuring compliance, technical excellence, and exceptional levels of client care throughout the department
About You
- A highly experienced Residential Conveyancer with approximately 10 years’ PQE or equivalent hands-on experience
- Proven technical expertise across a full range of residential conveyancing matters
- Previous management, supervisory, or team leadership experience would be highly advantageous
- Commercially minded with the ambition and capability to build and grow a successful department
- Strong working knowledge of Proclaim case management software
- Excellent organisational, communication, and client relationship skills
- Able to balance leadership responsibilities with an active fee-earning caseload
