Employment Solicitor/Partner Leadership Role in a Leading Legal Team Are you a driven and experienced Employment Solicitor or Partner seeking the next step in your legal career? I am working with a well-respected legal practice that is expanding its Employment Law team in Leeds, offering an exceptional leadership opportunity for a senior solicitor to lead and shape a high-performing team. This is an ideal role for a commercially minded employment law expert with a proven track record in both contentious and non-contentious matters. You\’ll be stepping into a leadership position with significant autonomy, where innovation, collaboration, and professional growth are not only encouraged but expected. Key Responsibilities: As a senior Employment Solicitor/Partner, you will: Lead and manage a team of solicitors and legal professionals, driving performance, client service, and profitability. Oversee caseload allocation and risk assessment, ensuring compliance with best practice and regulatory standards. Appoint supervisors and delegate responsibilities effectively across the team structure. Supervise and mentor junior colleagues in line with professional obligations and internal policies. Build and maintain strong client relationships , acting as a key point of contact for service delivery and legal advice. Report to senior management and contribute to strategic planning, department performance, and policy development. Champion content development , webinars, and thought leadership in employment law. Represent the team in business development , client pitches, and marketing activities. Support team CPD and career progression through structured planning and mentoring. Independently manage complex employment matters, including high-value and sensitive cases . Handle and resolve client complaints where necessary with professionalism and attention to detail. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Qualified Solicitor with extensive experience in Employment Law . A solid background in leading or supervising a legal team, with excellent mentoring and people management skills. Demonstrable experience in client relationship management and stakeholder engagement. A strategic approach to business development with a history of identifying and securing new opportunities. Confidence in handling high-value, complex employment law cases .
