The Role
As a Court of Protection Solicitor, you will manage a varied and rewarding caseload of matters involving vulnerable individuals, complex mental capacity issues, and deputyship applications. This is an opportunity to work alongside nationally recognised specialists in a highly respected private client division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handling health & welfare and property & affairs applications
- Advising on deputyships, statutory wills, LPAs, and best interests decisions
- Representing clients at the Court of Protection and liaising with medical experts
- Working with high net worth and vulnerable clients with sensitivity and professionalism
- Supporting junior team members (if appropriate) and contributing to team development
Requirements:
- Qualified Solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE (Court of Protection experience essential)
- Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Ability to manage complex and emotionally sensitive matters
- Law Society Mental Capacity Accreditation desirable (not essential)
- Excellent communication, empathy, and attention to detail
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative, high-performing legal environment
