Contentious Probate Solicitor

Associate Director | Legal Recruitment Specialist | West Yorkshire

The Role

This is a senior‑level appointment – either at director or junior partner level, depending on experience – to help shape and grow the firm’s inheritance and trust disputes team. The successful candidate will:

• Provide expert technical advice on contentious probate, trust disputes, will challenges, Inheritance Act claims, executor/trustee disputes, and related matters.
• Independently manage and lead complex cases from inception to resolution.
• Mentor and supervise more junior solicitors, paralegals, and apprentices, helping to develop the next generation of talent.
• Delegate work appropriately, ensuring efficient case flow and high‑quality outputs.
• Attend and contribute at regular team meetings across the firm’s offices.
• Take on responsibility for case management, freeing up more senior partners to focus on strategic development.

• You will have significant experience in contentious probate / inheritance and trust disputes.
• You must be comfortable and confident in independently managing complex litigation.
• You should have a track record of mentoring or supervising more junior lawyers.
• You are ambitious, but realistic, you seek a leadership role rather than a rapid jump to full equity.
• You are collegial and personable, able to fit within a collaborative, collegial team structure.
