A leading UK law firm is seeking a Health Litigation Solicitor to join its highly regarded team. The Health Litigation team specialises in clinical negligence and employers' liability and public liability claims, acting for healthcare clients including NHS bodies and related organisations. The team has received significant industry recognition in recent years and is known for delivering high quality legal services within a collaborative and forward thinking environment.
You will assist on and manage a caseload of defendant clinical negligence and EL PL claims within a healthcare setting. This role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of work as well as opportunities to develop your technical expertise and client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist on and manage a caseload of EL PL and clinical negligence matters
- Draft reports for healthcare clients
- Interview witnesses and draft witness statements
- Instruct experts and counsel
- Attend court hearings including case management conferences and applications
- Negotiate settlements
- Attend conferences with counsel
- Prepare for and attend trials and mediations
Additional Responsibilities
- Support secondments with healthcare clients where required
- Assist colleagues on higher value and complex claims
- Draft articles and updates for clients
- Attend and support advice clinics
- Deliver client training and presentations
- Supervise and support junior team members
Candidate Profile
- Qualified Solicitor
- Experience in defendant EL PL work preferred, though claimant experience will be considered
- Clinical negligence experience advantageous
