A highly regarded legal practice is looking for an experienced Clinical Negligence Solicitor (Grade B or equivalent) to join its well-established team based in Leeds. The firm can offer a fully remote working contract, but you will be required to attend the Leeds/northern office once a month. This is a key position within a thriving Clinical Negligence department, working alongside a highly skilled team recognised for its expertise and success in handling complex claims. The department includes accredited professionals with recognised expertise in claimant clinical negligence work.
You will take full responsibility for managing a caseload of clinical negligence matters, with a focus on proactive case progression, client service excellence and commercial awareness. You will also work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels, sharing knowledge and contributing to team success, as well as mentoring junior team members. Key ResponsibilitiesThe role involves running your own clinical negligence caseload from instruction to resolution. You will be expected to make tactical decisions, liaise with clients and experts, draft legal documents, negotiate settlements and litigate where appropriate. You will play an active part in delivering the department’s objectives, contribute to financial and performance targets, and support the team in managing complex matters efficiently and professionally.
RequirementsYou will be a qualified solicitor with at least five years’ post-qualification experience, or have equivalent expertise, in clinical negligence litigation. Experience of managing a varied and complex caseload is essential, as is a commercial approach to case handling. Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills are expected, along with excellent attention to detail, organisation and IT proficiency. You will be confident working independently, while also contributing to team development through mentoring and support.
