I'm keen to connect with Contentious Probate Solicitors (3+ years' PQE) who are looking to take the next step within a nationally recognised, specialist-only contentious probate firm. If you're currently handling a mix of private client and contentious work or you're in a larger litigation team where contentious probate is just one of many practice areas, this is an opportunity to immerse yourself fully in your specialism.
The Firm
This is a boutique firm dedicated exclusively to contentious wills, trusts and estates. There is no non-contentious private client work, enabling lawyers to build genuine depth and technical excellence in this complex and fast-growing area. The firm has developed a strong national reputation for:
- High-quality inheritance and estate disputes
- Technical excellence
- A pragmatic, resolution-focused approach
- Compassionate client care in sensitive matters
Equally important is its culture. The leadership team has built an environment based on trust, flexibility and long-term sustainability. Flexible working isn't an add-on, it's embedded. Lawyers are supported to work remotely or on a hybrid basis, with genuine flexibility around hours where needed. This makes it an outstanding option for those balancing family commitments or seeking a more sustainable long-term career path.
The Role
You will join an established and growing team of specialists, handling a busy caseload of high-quality contentious probate matters. Significant hands-on experience is essential. This role is suited to someone who has spent at least three years focused primarily on contentious probate, not simply occasional exposure. The caseload will include:
- Will and inheritance disputes
- Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975
- Trust and estate disputes
- Capacity and validity challenges
- Executor and trustee disputes
You will be trusted to manage matters independently, with support from experienced colleagues when needed.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
- Specialist-only contentious probate practice
- Genuine work-life balance and flexibility
- Remote and hybrid working as standard
- Clear, realistic pathway to Partnership
- Collaborative culture with no internal competition
- Strong pipeline of high-quality work
- A firm that values wellbeing and long-term careers
Whether you're a mid-level solicitor wanting to deepen your expertise or a more experienced lawyer seeking flexibility without sacrificing quality or progression, this role can be shaped around your career goals.
About You
