A progressive and well-established law firm with offices in Birmingham and nationwide reach is seeking a talented Private Client Solicitor or Legal Executive to join its growing team. Recognised for innovation and a forward-thinking approach, the firm provides comprehensive legal services to individuals and businesses. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a varied caseload of private client matters while working in a supportive and ambitious team. Responsibilities will include:
- Drafting wills and trusts
- Preparing Probate Applications
- Advising on and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
- Court of Protection applications and advising elderly/vulnerable clients
- Managing both contentious and non-contentious probate cases
- Drafting deeds of variation and advising on gifts
- Estate and trust administration (small and large estates)
- Liaising with the Probate Registry, Land Registry, OPG, Solicitors and other third parties
Desirable Duties:
- Advising on trusts for pension and life insurance policies
- Inheritance Tax planning and asset protection strategies
- Advising on elderly client care issues and future planning
- Working with IFAs, accountants and internal teams on joint projects
Long-term, the role offers the opportunity to progress into a Head of Department position, including supervising and managing a team.
You will bring:
- Qualification as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 2+ years PQE in private client law
- Strong experience across wills, probate, LPAs, trusts and estate administration
- Solid academic background and a proven track record of success
- A good understanding of legal practice, client care and ethical obligations
- Ambition, commitment and the drive to develop professionally within a growing firm
