Job Description

Family Solicitor (1-3 years') – Edinburgh

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join a highly regarded Family Law team based in Edinburgh. This position offers hands-on experience across a diverse range of private family law matters, including high-value financial provision, child-related disputes, cohabitation issues and divorce/separation cases.

The team is known for its supportive and collaborative culture and is regularly instructed in complex and sensitive cases, often involving international elements. As part of this team, you will work directly with experienced family law specialists, gaining practical advocacy experience in the Sheriff Court and exposure to Court of Session work.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about family law and looking to build a long-term career in a firm that values development, client care and excellence in legal service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising clients on a broad range of family law issues
  • Supporting with cases involving financial provision, child contact/residence, adoption and other sensitive family matters
  • Preparing pleadings and appearing in court
  • Drafting written advocacy, legal opinions and client correspondence
  • Assisting with business development and contributing to team thought leadership initiatives
