About the Firm
Our client is a well-established, client-focused private practice law firm with a strong reputation across the Surrey and Berkshire. Its busy Residential Property Department handles a wide range of conveyancing matters for a loyal client base. Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking an enthusiastic Paralegal to join its friendly Wokingham office.
The Role
You will provide key support to the firm’s Conveyancing Solicitors on a variety of residential property transactions. This is an excellent opportunity to develop conveyancing skills within a supportive and professional environment.
Key Duties include:
- Opening new files and ensuring they are fully compliant with regulatory and internal procedures
- Preparing and issuing draft contract packs to purchasers’ Solicitors
- Assisting with post-exchange administration and completion preparation
- Drafting and submitting Certificates of Title (COTs)
- Carrying out final searches prior to completion
- Preparing and submitting SDLT returns and AP1 applications to HM Land Registry
- Dealing with Land Registry requisitions promptly and accurately
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders and other third parties as required
Your Profile
- Previous experience as a Conveyancing Assistant or Paralegal within a residential property team
- Good understanding of the conveyancing process from file opening through to post-completion
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident IT skills, including case management systems
- Excellent communication and client care abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
