Private Client Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive

A well-established Legal 500 law firm in Exeter is looking to recruit an experienced Private Client Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive to join its expanding Wills, Probate and Estate Planning team.

This role has arisen due to continued growth within the Private Client team and increasing demand for Wills, Probate and Estate Planning services.
Private Client Solicitor/Partner – The Role:
The successful Private Client Lawyer will manage a broad caseload of non-contentious Private Client matters including:
- Drafting Wills and advising on estate planning
- Probate and estate administration matters
- Inheritance Tax (IHT) and succession planning
- Preparation and registration of Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs)
- Trust creation, administration and advisory work
- Advising elderly and vulnerable clients
- Wealth preservation and tax-efficient planning
- Court of Protection related matters
- Mentor & support (usually more junior) colleagues
The department acts for a loyal and longstanding client base including:
- High-net-worth individuals
- Families and retirees
- Business owners
- Executors and trustees
- Elderly and vulnerable clients
Candidate Requirements
Applications are encouraged from:
- Qualified Solicitors
- Chartered Legal Executives (CILEx)
- Experienced Private Client Fee Earners
You should ideally have:
- At least 4 years’ experience in Private Client law
- Strong experience in Wills, Probate, Trusts and LPAs
- Any managerial experience is useful
STEP qualification or progress toward STEP would also be beneficial, although not essential.
