Head of Projects in London

G1 Search has been exclusively retained by an ambitious and growing electrical infrastructure business to appoint a Head of Projects. Operating across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe, the business delivers complex electrical infrastructure projects across Data Centres, Energy, Renewables, Utilities and related infrastructure markets. Having strengthened its leadership team, systems and operational capability, the company is entering an exciting period of growth, with the European data centre sector representing a particularly significant opportunity. This is a newly created leadership appointment offering the opportunity to join a successful entrepreneurial business at an important stage in its development. Reporting directly to the Founder and joining the Management Team, the Head of Projects will take ownership of the project delivery function across the business. The successful candidate will lead and develop the Project Management team while building the capability, processes, governance and supply chain relationships required to support an increasingly complex portfolio of projects. This is a role with genuine scope to influence and make decisions. Working closely with the Founder and wider leadership team, the Head of Projects will help shape how the business operates, develops its people and scales its project delivery capability for the next phase of growth. Key Responsibilities Lead the safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery of projects across the UK, Ireland and mainland Europe Provide leadership, direction and development to the Project Management team Oversee projects from tender handover and mobilisation through delivery, completion and commercial close-out Build scalable project delivery processes, governance and reporting across the business Develop the specialist supply chain and subcontractor relationships required to support future growth Work closely with commercial and operational colleagues to manage project performance, risk and profitability Build trusted relationships with clients, Tier 1 contractors and key delivery partners Contribute to the Management Team and wider strategic development of the business Required Experience Proven track record delivering complex electrical infrastructure projects Demonstrated experience leading projects, teams and multiple workstreams in demanding delivery environments Experience within Data Centres, Energy, Renewables, Utilities, or related electrical infrastructure markets Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to manage project performance, budgets, contracts and risk Strong electrical engineering knowledge and understanding of project delivery Ability to lead, develop and empower Project Managers and wider delivery teams Credibility to build relationships with senior clients, contractors, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders Experience within hyperscale or mission-critical data centre environments would be advantageous What's on Offer A key leadership position within an ambitious and growing electrical infrastructure business The opportunity to work directly with the Founder and influence the future direction of the company Genuine autonomy to shape and develop the project delivery function Exposure to complex, high-quality infrastructure projects across the UK, Ireland and Europe Significant opportunity for personal development as the organisation continues to scale Competitive executive salary, performance-related bonus and benefits package This appointment will suit an established project or operational leader seeking greater autonomy and influence, or an accomplished senior project professional ready to step into broader functional leadership.
