Revenue Manager
Location: Market Harborough
Working Hours: Full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week 09:00 am-17:15 pm Monday to Friday with 45 minute lunch break.
Purpose of the Role:
To manage the tour inventory to ensure the maximum margin for each individual tour is achieved, with an overall focus on delivering and exceeding both pax and revenue targets. Having a key role in the Commercial planning process, to ensure the right capacity is put on sale, taking into consideration the best days of week or dates to operate. To better integrate decision making around the flight and hotel inventory processes, working alongside Product and Aviation. Drawing out insights by investigative and exploratory analysis to influence the business to improve performance.
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for identifying opportunities to maximise sales and margin across all product range, taking into account ground package rates, minimum numbers required for flight group seats and minimum numbers required for a free Holiday Director place.
- Carry out regular capacity reviews to ensure the right capacity is on sale, actively look for opportunities to open up more dates, guarantee departures and put forward any recommendations for cancellations.
- Be accountable and responsible for updating the inventory system when a tour is cleared, cancelled or closed.
- Manage flight seat inventory, ensuring the right number of regional flights are sold and do not result in spare committed London seats.
- Work alongside the Aviation team, to ensure the right number of “risk” seats are retained at the final commitment stage based on historical analysis, taking into account the current adhoc price, airline penalties and the financial impact on not keeping seats.
- Be responsible for managing the “on request” bookings and late sales process, reviewing if to accept a single passenger on Travelsphere and ensuring that tours with no flight seats are taken off sale 2 weeks before departure.
- Play a collaborative role in the commercial planning process, working closely with Aviation, Product and Operations in putting the optimum product and capacity on sale.
- Collaborate with Product and Aviation to review the best airport gateways, in order to explore all flight options with the ultimate aim to reduce both transfer times and flight costs and ensure all the latest or reasonable estimated costs are being used.
- Continuously review pricing to ensure all cost changes are competitive, adjusted for and recuperated where possible.
- Be responsible for and create a process for internationalisation pricing, understand currency and product differences.
- Be responsible for pricing all regional flight options, understanding the cost difference and creating a process with Aviation to ensure this remains as accurate and fluid as possible
- Be responsible for unloading and maintaining live pricing within the booking system
- Be responsible for setting up discounts and removing the discounts at sales levels that have been agreed with the Head of Revenue Management.
- Review any additional supplements on “on request” bookings, putting forward any recommendations for increasing a selling price, then implementing once approved.
- Assist in providing tours to Marketing focusing on a mix of tours with committed flight seats left to sell, poorer selling tours, tours that are currently trending and tours where additional passengers create a higher margin.
- Assist in brochure checking and ensuring the website is up to date and accurate.
- Conduct regular Competitor analysis and benchmarking to identify opportunities.
- Be responsible for producing Management Information to support the decision-making process
