Assisting with the health, safety and environmental improvement activities and the promotion of a positive safety culture within the business.

Conducting safety audits used to maintain the company's health, safety and environmental management systems. Completion of audits to ensure compliance to departmental policies and standards, including monitoring the safe use of overhead cranes and forklift trucks.

Overseeing Health & Safety across the shop-floor; challenging and stopping any acts of unsafe working, fostering a culture of safety and ensuring all employees adhere to the company's Health & Safety standards and processes regarding safe working practices.

Proactively contributing at the health and safety representative meetings to understand and challenge the issues raised by associates regarding health and safety. Working in collaboration with each division to close out improvements identified on the problem follow‑up logs.

Providing assistance in accident investigation reporting.

  • Must have an impeccable time and attendance record.
  • Confident, diplomatic with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Practical hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
  • Possess a high level of integrity & confidentiality.
  • Ability to show resilience under pressure and a flexible approach to support the department's requirements, dealing with frequent change and unexpected events.
  • A good level of I.T skills.
  • Previous H&S experience or an IOSH/NEBOSH certificate would be desirable.

Shifts

Please note this shift pattern could change with the needs of the business. Permanent Day Shift: Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:30 Friday 08:00 – 15:30. Must have right to work in the UK – sponsorship is not available.
