Assisting with the health, safety and environmental improvement activities and the promotion of a positive safety culture within the business.
- Conducting safety audits used to maintain the companies' health, safety and environmental management systems.
- Completion of audits to ensure compliance to departmental policies and standards, this includes monitoring the safe use of overhead cranes and forklift trucks.
- Overseeing Health and Safety across the shop-floor. Challenge and stop any acts of unsafe working, fostering a culture of safety ensuring all employees are adhering to the company’s Health & Safety standards and processes regarding safe working practices.
- Proactively contributing at the health and safety representative meetings in order to understand and challenge the issues raised from associates with respect to health and safety.
- Working in collaboration with each division to close out improvements identified on the problem follow up logs.
- Providing assistance in accident investigation reporting.
Person Profile
- Must have impeccable time and attendance record.
- Confident, diplomatic with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Practical hands-on approach to problem-solving.
- Possess a high level of integrity & confidentiality.
- Ability to show resilience under pressure and have a flexible approach to support requirements of the department, dealing with frequent change and unexpected events.
- A good level of IT skills.
- Previous H&S experience or an IOSH/NEBOSH certificate would be desirable.
Shifts
Please note this shift pattern could change with the needs of the business. Permanent Day Shift: Monday - Thursday 08:00 – 16:30, Friday – 08:00 – 15:30. Must have right to work in the UK – sponsorship is not available.
