We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Smoke Ventilation Estimator to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for smoke control and smoke ventilation systems across a range of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge of smoke ventilation systems and a background in estimating within the fire safety or building services sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tenders for smoke ventilation and smoke control systems
- Review drawings, specifications, and tender requirements
- Assess project risks and value engineering opportunities
- Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors for pricing and technical input
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g. BS 7346, BS EN 12101, Approved Document B)
- Support the project and sales teams during pre and post tender stages
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to cost databases
Requirements
- Proven experience as an estimator within smoke ventilation, fire safety, or M&E sectors
- Strong understanding of smoke control systems (AOVs, pressurisation, natural and mechanical systems and fire & smoke curtains)
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of NI & ROI building regulations and fire safety standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and estimating software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication and management abilities
Desirable
- Relevant technical or engineering qualification
- Experience working with residential and high-rise developments
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar drawing software
