The role
As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you’ll design, build and operate the AWS infrastructure underpinning G‑Research’s cloud workloads. You’ll own the AWS landing zone and core platform services, creating secure, scalable foundations that enable engineering teams to work efficiently and safely in the cloud. This is a hands‑on role focused on delivery, automation and operational excellence, requiring deep technical understanding of AWS with a strong emphasis on security and user experience.
Who are we looking for?
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Designing, building and maintaining the AWS landing zone and core platform services
- Implementing and managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
- Embedding security, compliance and governance controls across the platform
- Developing automation and tooling to simplify cloud adoption and improve developer experience
- Supporting monitoring, observability and incident response capabilities
- Collaborating with internal teams to troubleshoot issues, optimise workloads and continuously improve the platform
- Tracking AWS service updates and providing recommendations to stakeholders and consumer teams
