This is a contract role based in our new Soho Place office - opened in 2023 - in the heart of Central London and home to our Research Lab.
Data scientists at G-Research bring structure to the world's financial data, refining, transforming and combining varied and rich datasets to create superior representations of the outside world in our research platform. Collaborating closely with Quantitative Researchers and Engineers - and supported by a high-performance compute platform - you'll analyse third-party datasets and apply your technical expertise and understanding of financial markets to integrate them effectively into our growing data estate.
Who are we looking for?
- Strong academic credentials, including a minimum 2:1 degree or equivalent, in a quantitative subject, such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics or engineering
- Demonstrable experience in a data science or data analysis role, with excellent performance over a number of years
- Good programming skills, preferably in Python
- The ability to apply foundational mathematical concepts, such as probability or statistics, to real world financial and data science problems
- Outstanding problem-solving ability and strong data visualisation skills
- The ability to collaborate well with others on projects
