A global finance data company currently requires a journalist to join them on a permanent basis. They require a bright and analytical candidate with a strong news sense, to write features and analysis for their aviation finance report service. This is a hybrid role based in central London with 2-3 days in the office per week. The role would suit someone interested in research and current affairs, who enjoys writing.

The journalist will join an experienced team of journalists and consultants. Crucially, the team has a very strong track record of internal training and development for those with limited experience covering financial news or aviation. They are looking for a curious person with strong interpersonal skills and an ability to identify trends. The right person will have a passion for research and a desire to incorporate data in their reports. Previous successful applicants studied a range of degrees - from History, English Literature, and Journalism to Aviation and General Engineering.

Responsibilities:
  • Write features and analysis for the aviation finance report service.
  • Join an experienced team of journalists and consultants with a focus on research and current affairs.
  • Identify trends and incorporate data into reports.
Requirements:
  • Proven journalism and research skills.
  • Proven experience within a professional environment.
  • A good phone manner when calling senior industry representatives.
  • An interest in aviation and/or finance.
  • An interest in data and data visualisation.
  • A good command of basic Excel skills.

Salary: £38k depending on experience. 25 days annual leave in addition to all public holidays. Private healthcare is offered to all employees and spouses.
