We are supporting a well-established housing association in Bristol in their search for a Tree Surgeon Team Leader to oversee arboriculture operations across their residential portfolio. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Tree Surgeon ready to step up, or an existing Team Leader looking for a more stable, community-focused environment. You’ll lead a small team, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to a consistently high standard, while maintaining excellent service for residents.
Responsibilities
- Lead, support, and motivate a team of Tree Surgeons on-site
- Plan and oversee daily arboriculture operations across multiple locations
- Carry out tree works including pruning, felling, and maintenance when required
- Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and PPE are safe and compliant
- Conduct quality checks and site inspections
- Assess tree health and manage risk across sites
- Manage workload, performance, and development of team members
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations
- Act as the main point of contact for residents and internal teams
- Support continuous improvement and best practice sharing
Requirements
- Strong experience in arboriculture / tree surgery
- Previous experience leading or supervising a team
- Confident using arboriculture machinery and working at height
- Solid understanding of tree health, risk assessment, and site safety
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Ability to manage workloads and deliver against targets
