About the Role
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Manager, the Senior Accounts Payable Specialist position is accountable for monitoring the accounts payable clerks, ensuring the timely processing and payment of supplier invoices, creation of purchase orders, reconciling the bank accounts and management of the AP inbox including:
- Timely and accurate completion of daily/month tasks.
- Provide support to management.
- Maintain own and the AP team deadlines and SLA’s agreed.
Responsibilities
- Organise and prepare supplier weekly payment runs.
- Reconciliations of both Bank Accounts.
- Timely preparation of team and self‑supplier statement reconciliation with discrepancies resolved.
- Reviewing with the Accounts Payable Manager.
- Ensure the team ledgers and own ledgers are managed effectively on a daily basis, answering, resolving and escalating supplier queries in a timely manner.
- Aged Creditors, Dispute Log, Council Tracker and Debit Balance reviewed with resolutions identified.
- Compile information for auditors, as required.
- Assist the Head of Financial Operations, Accounts Payable Manager and Project & Costs Accountant with any adhoc projects.
- Support and cover for the Project and Cost Accountant.
Qualifications
- Proven accounts payable experience.
Required Skills
- Experience with Microsoft package specifically excel.
- Aptitude for accurately and reliably following detailed procedures.
- Ability to prioritise and manage workload.
- Able to efficiently communicate with other departments to resolve customer queries.
- Fast, observant, organised and self‑disciplined with a keen eye for detail.
- A motivated individual who demonstrates an aptitude for diligence and accuracy.
- Financial Force knowledge is desirable.
