As we continue to grow, we're looking for a talented and ambitious Financial Accountant to join our finance team and play a key role in supporting accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and informed business decision-making. The Opportunity: Reporting to the Finance Manager and working closely with the wider finance team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls, and supporting statutory and tax compliance activities. You'll gain exposure across the finance function, partnering with FP&A and operational teams while contributing to process improvements that help drive business performance.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Financial Reporting & Month-End Close.
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
  • Support the month-end close process through the preparation of journals, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting working papers.
  • Assist in the production of management accounts and financial reporting packs.
  • Deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary against budget, forecasts, and prior periods.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain robust financial control processes and contribute to a strong control environment.
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end audit requirements.
  • Assist with tax reporting and compliance activities.
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Business Partnering & Continuous Improvement: Work closely with FP&A to ensure costs and revenues are accurately recorded and understood. Collaborate across finance teams to improve data quality and reporting efficiency. Support reporting enhancement projects and process improvement initiatives. Stay current with accounting developments and industry best practice, applying these to improve reporting quality and compliance.

What We're Looking For:

  • Part-qualified accountant (AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Strong financial accounting knowledge and understanding of month-end processes including UK VAT.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modelling techniques.
  • Experience using Salesforce, FinancialForce, or similar ERP/CRM systems.
  • Experience within telecommunications, infrastructure, utilities, or project-based environment.
  • Exposure to statutory accounts preparation and external audits.
