Due to continued growth, G Mc Fadden Civil Engineers Ltd is looking to recruit a Sub Agent to join our team.
We are a Midlands-based civil engineering subcontractor delivering highways, S278, infrastructure and public realm schemes for a range of Tier 1 contractors.

The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of civil engineering projects across the East & West Midlands, ensuring works are completed safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day management of site activities.
- Planning labour, plant, materials and subcontractors.
- Preparing and updating construction programmes and look-ahead programmes.
- Reviewing drawings, identifying buildability issues and value engineering opportunities.
- Leading and attending client progress meetings.
- Managing NEC contract administration through CEMAR, including Early Warnings and Compensation Events.
- Preparing and maintaining QA documentation and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Working closely with the commercial team to maximise project performance.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Sub Agent within the UK civil engineering sector, ideally with a subcontractor.
- Experience delivering highways, S278 and public realm schemes.
- Good understanding of NEC contracts and experience using CEMAR.
- Experience preparing and managing construction programmes.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to review drawings and identify buildability and value engineering opportunities.
- SMSTS, CSCS and Full UK Driving Licence.
