A leading global investment manager is undergoing a comprehensive, end-to-end operational process review and change initiative. The engagement is focused on identifying and implementing improvements across operations, with particular emphasis on client onboarding, broker onboarding, and relationship management. The client is a large, complex institution operating at the highest tier of the asset management industry. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate direct experience working within or alongside organisations of comparable scale and sophistication.

The client is seeking a highly experienced operations change professional who can provide an informed, cross-institutional perspective on how firms of equivalent calibre operate day-to-day. The consultant will be engaged to lead or contribute to a process review covering front-to-back operations, with a particular focus on client and broker onboarding workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or support a structured, front-to-back operational process review across the client’s investment management operations.
  • Apply a specialist lens to client onboarding and broker onboarding workflows, identifying inefficiencies, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Assess and advise on relationship management processes as part of the broader operational review.
  • Draw on experience from comparable institutions to provide benchmark perspectives and best-practice recommendations.
  • Collaborate with senior client stakeholders to understand the current-state environment and define a target operating model where required.
  • Produce clear, actionable outputs including process maps, gap analyses, and prioritised recommendations.
  • Contribute to or lead change implementation planning as the engagement evolves.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable track record of conducting end-to-end operational process reviews within large, complex financial services organisations.
  • Direct experience of client onboarding and/or broker onboarding within an investment management or equivalent institutional context.
  • Proven ability to own and deliver operational change programmes end-to-end - from current-state diagnostic through to implementation.
  • Background at or alongside a major, tier-one institution.
  • Experience spanning both sides of key institutional relationships (e.g. investment manager and broker/dealer) is highly valued.
  • Multiple instances of delivering this type of engagement; this is not a role for a first-time change practitioner.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with the operating environment of a large-scale, complex investment management institution.
  • Exposure to technology implementation as part of operational change programmes.
  • Experience of regulatory-driven change within operations.
  • Ability to engage credibly with C-suite and senior operations leadership.

Length: 6 months initial contract, with a view to extending further.
