We are seeking a Paralegal to join a leading global financial institution and to work closely within their Europe Legal Department. This is a critical position based in their London office, supporting the bank's operations across London and Europe, and reporting directly to the Head of Legal for Europe. This is an initial 9-12 months contract.
As a Paralegal, you will play a pivotal role in delivering commercial, risk-based legal services, with a focus on third-party contract management and GDPR compliance, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies to safeguard the bank's reputation.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing, drafting, negotiating, and advising on local and cross-border third-party contracts and intragroup agreements for GlobalBank Europe.
- Managing and updating legal agreement templates to align with Bank and industry standards.
- Providing commercial, risk-based counsel on contract management processes and resolving contractual disputes.
- Advising on complex GDPR-related issues, including projects, contracts, policies, and ad-hoc queries.
- Supporting the London legal team in delivering legal services, including coordinating external counsel and managing external legal spend.
- Ensuring all activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies to mitigate risks.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in third-party legal contract management, ideally within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of GDPR and its application to local and cross-border legal issues.
- Ability to manage a large legal workload, take ownership of tasks, and thrive in a high-pressure environment.
- Exceptional integrity, common sense, and the ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment in complex and demanding settings.
- High energy, proactiveness, and a results-oriented approach to meeting tight deadlines.
