We are seeking an experienced engineer to join one of our Financial Services clients to deliver a database migration and infrastructure build as part of a wider platform implementation. The role involves end-to-end responsibility for building, integrating, and operationalising core systems. This role can be based in Paris, London or Geneva.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the setup, configuration, and optimisation of databases, including data migration and performance tuning.
  • Ensure seamless connectivity between SimCorp and other integrated platforms by establishing and validating network links.
  • Deliver on-premise infrastructure components in line with existing environments, maintaining consistency and operational standards.
  • Develop and configure interface connections, including: SWIFT Alliance: Configure BIC codes, message routing, and associated server environments. External banking and client systems (e.g., NT, JPM, SS, and others – around 7 key connections).
  • Set up pipelines for email data extraction and exchange.
  • Manage the full deployment lifecycle—from initial build and system testing through to final production rollout.
  • Work closely with teams across security, networking, applications, and project delivery, as well as with the Chief of Staff for Technology, to ensure all solutions meet compliance, security, and performance standards.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation detailing system architecture, configurations, and testing outcomes.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in infrastructure or database engineering within financial services.
  • Exposure to DORA, operational resilience, or regulated ICT environments.
  • Extensive experience with database implementation and migration (SQL Server, Oracle, or similar).
  • Solid track record in building and integrating on-prem infrastructure (Windows/Linux, storage, networking).
  • Practical expertise in configuring SWIFT Alliance and establishing bank connectivity.
  • Good understanding of network security, including firewalls, certificates, and messaging protocols.
  • Familiar with integrating financial systems such as SimCorp, custodians, fund administrators, and banks.
