We are looking for an experienced Part-Time Insurance Accountant (3 days per week) to join a Lloyd’s of London insurer. This role will focus on underwriting and insurance accounting activities, supporting financial reporting, reconciliations, and regulatory processes within a complex London Market environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional with London Market insurance accounting experience seeking a flexible part-time role within a highly respected insurer.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain underwriting pool ledgers and related reconciliations
- Prepare premium and claims bordereaux and quarterly reporting outputs
- Post journals and reconcile to policy administration systems and expenses
- Perform balance sheet and ledger reconciliations, resolving discrepancies
- Process premium receipts and claims payments, investigating variances with underwriting teams
- Manage multi-currency transactions and reconciliations
- Oversee debt collection and reinsurer settlements
- Prepare and issue statements to reinsuring pools
- Agree and settle bordereaux and resolve broker queries
- Support external reviews and coverholder audits
- Continual development of reporting solutions
- Assist in maintaining relationship with third party providers
Qualifications
- Insurance accounting experience within the Lloyd’s/London Market
- Strong underwriting/insurance accounting experience
- Experience with bordereaux, reconciliations, and multi-currency transactions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a part-time capacity
