G MASS Consulting is working with a leading global financial services organisation to identify an experienced Total Return Swaps and Equity Swaps Operations SME to support the establishment and ongoing operation of a new in-house TRS capability. This is an initial six month contract engagement, with the possibility of a permanent opportunity for the right candidate.
The Role
As TRS / Equity Swaps Operations SME, you will combine business analysis and process design skills with deep operational expertise to help stand up and then run an in-house TRS capability from the ground up. You will work closely with operations, technology, and business stakeholders - including an external managed service BA - to ensure TRS processes are designed effectively, implemented successfully within Calypso, and supported operationally on an ongoing basis. The expectation is that you will be 5 days a week in the office.
Responsibilities
- Helping establish and operationalise an in-house TRS and equity swaps operations function
- Defining the target operating model, workflows, controls, and governance required to support TRS activity
- Translating business requirements into practical operational processes within the Calypso environment
- Working with technology teams and the external managed service provider to ensure the platform supports operational needs
- Creating and maintaining operating procedures, process documentation, and control frameworks
- Providing SME expertise across the full TRS and equity swaps lifecycle, including trade capture, settlements, lifecycle events, reconciliations, cash flows, collateral, and exception management
- Supporting the transition away from the current outsourced model
- Taking ownership of BAU TRS operations once established, ensuring processes run effectively and issues are managed appropriately
- Acting as the point of expertise for operational queries, process improvements, and ongoing enhancements
Qualifications
- Strong experience within Total Return Swaps and/or Equity Swaps Operations
- Proven experience managing or supporting BAU TRS or equity swaps operations
- Demonstrated ability to design and document operational processes and workflows
- Hands-on experience working with Calypso
- Strong understanding of front-to-back derivatives processes
- Ability to work across business and technology teams
- A practical, delivery-focused mindset with the ability to move between process design and hands-on execution
