G MASS Consulting are assisting a UK digital bank in the search for an experienced Second Line Compliance professional to join their risk and compliance function. This role will focus on delivering independent oversight and challenge across conduct risk and compliance monitoring activities within a fast-paced, growing environment. The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience in compliance monitoring and controls testing, including executing thematic reviews, deep-dive testing, and producing regulatory-aligned findings. You will be responsible for end-to-end review cycles and assessing the effectiveness of remediation actions, while engaging closely with first-line teams to drive outcomes and action closure.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver independent second-line oversight across conduct risk and compliance monitoring activities
  • Design and execute thematic reviews and deep-dive controls testing programmes
  • Own end-to-end review cycles (Terms of Reference, testing, reporting, and tracking actions)
  • Produce clear, high-quality findings reports aligned to regulatory expectations
  • Assess and validate remediation actions through outcomes and sample-based testing
  • Engage with first-line stakeholders to challenge, influence, and drive timely action closure
  • Track and report on remediation progress, escalating risks or delays where required
  • Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of compliance monitoring frameworks and methodologies

Qualifications

  • Proven Second Line Compliance experience within a UK retail or challenger bank
  • Strong background in conduct risk, compliance monitoring, or oversight functions
  • Hands-on experience in controls testing, thematic reviews, and deep-dive assessments
  • Experience running end-to-end review cycles (ToR through to reporting and action tracking)
  • Strong remediation and outcomes testing capability
  • Ability to provide independent challenge and influence first-line stakeholders
  • Strong written skills with experience producing regulatory-aligned reports
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, evolving banking environments
