GKR Sheet Metal Ltd are looking for a keen and hardworking individual to be a trainee CNC Laser Operator on our new 6K Fiber Laser. This position doesn't require any knowledge of Laser Operation as all training will be given; however, it will involve heavy lifting and working with hot material.
This is a full-time position, and we feel it would best suit a school or college leaver who has an interest in the Engineering / Fabrication industry.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Loading material onto the machine
- Nesting and cutting jobs
- Removing jobs and scrap material
- Cleaning up lasered items
- Putting scrap in the relevant bins
- Booking all items and materials
- Ensuring schedules are met
Standard hours are Mon-Fri 8 till 4.30 - overtime is sometimes available. A 6 month trial period will be on minimum wage. An ongoing wage will be agreed based on age and performance during the trial but will be above minimum wage. Holidays are 25 days per year + Bank Holidays.
