CNC Laser Operator (Training Provided) GKR Sheet Metal Ltd is looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking individual to join our team as a
CNC Laser Operator . Full training will be provided on our new
6k W Fibre Laser , making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing.
No previous CNC laser experience is required.
We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
This is a hands-on role in a busy manufacturing environment and involves manual handling, lifting sheet metal and working with recently cut materials that may still be hot.
Appropriate training and PPE will be provided.
Responsibilities Loading sheetmetal onto the CNC laser machine.
Setting up, nesting and running cutting jobs.
Removing completed components and scrap material.
Cleaning and finishing laser-cut parts.
Separating and disposing of scrap materials correctly.
Booking materials and completed jobs into the system.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area.
Helping ensure production schedules are met.
What we're looking for A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Good timekeeping and reliability.
A practical, hands-on approach to work.
Ability to work as part of a team.
An interest in engineering, manufacturing or fabrication is desirable but not essential.
Hours Monday to Friday 8:00am
4:30pm Overtime may be available when required.
Pay A six-month probationary period will be paid at the applicable National Minimum Wage.
Following successful completion of the probation, pay will be reviewed and increased based on performance and experience.
