Job Title: Kitchen Assistant Location: South Cerney, Cirencester (GL7) Reports To: Head Chef / Kitchen ManagerStart from – Join Immediately Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation: Assist chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients. Prepare simple dishes under supervision, ensuring adherence to hygiene and safety standards. Cleaning and Hygiene: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment. Ensure work surfaces, floors, and storage areas are kept clean and sanitized. Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Stock Management: Assist in unpacking and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO). Monitor stock levels of kitchen supplies and inform the Head Chef or Manager of replenishment needs. Team Support: Provide general support to the kitchen team during busy periods. Handle food waste appropriately, ensuring waste is minimized wherever possible. Skills and Qualifications: Previous experience in a kitchen or similar role is preferred but not required. Basic understanding of food hygiene and safety practices. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills.
