Job Title: Care and Support Assistant
Location:Roman Hill, Lowestoft (NR32), NR32 1RB
Reports to: Care Home Manager
Job Purpose
To provide high-quality care and support to residents in a care home setting, promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing. The Care and Support Assistant will assist with daily living tasks, administer medication, and ensure the safety of residents through effective use of PMVA and MAPA practices.
Key Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including assistance with washing, dressing, eating, and mobility.

Support residents with medication administration in line with policies and procedures.

Use PMVA (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression) and MAPA (Management of Actual or Potential Aggression) techniques to safely manage challenging behaviours.

Assist residents in maintaining independence and participating in meaningful activities.

Monitor and record residents health, wellbeing, and care needs accurately.

Ensure safeguarding, confidentiality, and infection control standards are upheld at all times.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, residents, and families.

Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive care environment.
Skills & Requirements

Previous experience in a care or support role within a care home or similar environment.

Medication administration training/experience essential.

PMVA and/or MAPA certification required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, empathetic nature.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and evenings.

Driver with a valid UK driving licence preferred.
Desirable Qualifications
