We have an excellent opportunity for a Facilities Assistant/Handyperson to join a world‑leading TV studio. With significant growth over the last years and a strong global presence, this studio offers excellent support, training and career progression opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Facilities Coordinator with minor repair works on building fabric (e.g., door handles, lights).
- Carry out small painting works to internal and external areas.
- Weed landscaped and car park areas, including applying weed killer.
- Repair minor potholes and damage to car park areas on an ad‑hoc basis.
- Support the facilities management team with daily tasks linked to site and production facilities.
- Carry out emergency lighting flick tests, monthly hot and cold‑water temperature recording, and weekly flushing of infrequently used outlets.
- Provide site supervision for visiting contractors and engineers.
- Maintain detailed records of on‑site activities, mainly via SharePoint.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day service and supplies with security and cleaning companies.
Required Experience and Skills
- Basic IT literacy and ability to use Microsoft operating systems.
- Some experience in a building facilities environment, working with contractors and suppliers.
- Training or qualifications in basic building maintenance (painting, electrical, plastering, etc.).
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Friendly and polite, with a willingness to help on‑site clients.
- Confident, clear communication with all visitors, providing and receiving information, instruction, and advice.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage changing deadlines.
- Enthusiasm to learn and willingness to help across all departments.
- Self‑motivated and highly organised.
