An experienced Site Manager is required to deliver a critical phase of an airside baggage handling installation at Stansted Airport. This is a 4‑month initial contract working on a £2.5m phase of a larger multi‑million programme, managing a site installation team of around 15-20 Mechanical & Electrical Fitters.

The Site Supervisor / Manager key responsibilities are:

  • Set up and manage the site for a new airside baggage handling system, overseeing installation teams and subcontractors.
  • Plan and manage works in line with CDM regulations, including writing and updating programmes and ensuring RAMS and permits are in place and approved with the client.
  • Lead toolbox talks, weekly audits and start‑of‑shift meetings, ensuring all works are delivered safely, to quality standards and within agreed timescales.
  • Ensure all safety standards and site plans are followed, managing snags and reporting critical issues immediately to the Construction Manager and Project Manager.
  • Produce site reports, define work areas clearly and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to keep the installation on track.

Site Supervisor / Manager person specification:

  • Proven site management experience on airport airside installations, ideally baggage handling or similar materials handling conveyor projects.
  • Recent and current airside clearance, or the ability to obtain this quickly.
  • Strong track record managing multi‑discipline installation teams and subcontractors on complex live sites with multiple stakeholders.
  • Calm, concise communicator who can manage issues under pressure and maintain strong relationships with client and principal contractor teams.
  • Commutable to Stansted Airport, with flexibility to work 5 days per week, 7am–5pm (possible weekends in busy periods).

Qualifications and tickets:

  • Level 6 Construction Management (or equivalent relevant construction management qualification).
  • SMSTS / SSSTS / CSCS site safety (Black Card preferable).
  • NEBOSH or IOSH.
  • Airside clearance and site safety passport; other airport‑specific permits/tickets as required for airside work.

Start: From 16th February, with interviews taking place ASAP via MS Teams/telephone.
