Contract Role: International Site Installations Manager

Industry: Bulk Materials Handling – Aggregates / tunnelling project

Rate: £450.00 - £500.00 per day + fully expensed/subsistence’s/travel/accommodation

Location: Paris / France

Employment Type: Contract (6-8 weeks on 2 weeks off) – Ltd Co. Outside IR35 / CIS

Duration: 4-6 months

Our client are a UK-based engineering and industrial-plant business specialising in bespoke bulk materials handling systems and full process plant solutions. Their expertise covers the full project lifecycle – from feasibility studies and technical consultation through to EPCM/EPC contracts, construction, installation, commissioning, and long-term maintenance. They deliver solutions for clients across mining, cement, aggregates, food, alternative fuels, biomass, tunnelling, infrastructure, and ports, both in the UK and internationally. This is an exciting opportunity to integrate within the end client’s site team, and play a key role in delivering a prestigious project.

The Role

We’re looking for a dedicated Site Installations Manager to oversee the project, including specifically focused on bulk materials handling conveyors. The Site Installations Manager will report to the principal contractor and take ownership of installation and running of the conveyor handling system, including installation and commissioning teams, and after service support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead site activities across bulk handling conveyors and plant installation.
  • Ensure compliance with Zero Harm policies, CDM, and HSE standards.
  • Review and approve subcontractor RAMS, Scope of Works, and Lift Plans.
  • Manage daily/weekly site planning, reporting progress, and maintaining schedules.
  • Issue and control site permits (Hot Works, Working at Height, etc.).
  • Supervise and motivate teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to the required quality.
  • Coordinate logistics for site deliveries, plant, and resources.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, site audits, and client/contractor meetings.
  • Resolve site issues relating to quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
  • Work on the site once all the conveyor system is installed to support any technical issues and breakdowns.

The candidate We’re seeking someone confident, proactive, and technically strong with bespoke bulk handling conveyor systems, and ideally fluent French speaking.

Essential qualifications & experience:

  • HNC/HND (or equivalent) in an engineering/technical discipline.
  • CSCS Black Card and SMSTS qualified. First Aid at Work (3-day).
  • 5–10 years’ experience as an international Site Installations Manager in construction/heavy engineering/Aggregate/tunnelling industries.
  • Strong background in steel construction, conveyors, and large plant installations.
  • Skilled in reviewing and authoring RAMS, Lift Plans, and construction documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Flexible to be internationally based (Paris, France).

Desirable:

  • French speaking & written communication.
  • IOSH/NEBOSH certification.
  • AutoCAD skills.
  • Experience in commissioning bulk handling equipment & belt conveyors.
  • Knowledge of ATEX/DSEAR, ISO 9001 & 14001.
