Hours: 4 day working week - 37 hours Monday to Thursday (Overtime available)

Our client is a leading manufacturer in the Aerospace Sector, providing advanced composite and metal components for civil & defence aerospace applications. They are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of quality, where critical aerospace components are assembled and inspected. They are currently seeking diligent and detail-oriented Semi-skilled Aircraft Fitters to join their teams.

The role: As a Semi-skilled Aircraft Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of safety and performance. You will assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of aerospace components. This position requires a hands-on approach and a strong attention to detail to ensure that all tasks are completed to stringent specifications.

Semi-skilled Aircraft Fitter key responsibilities:

  • Assist in the assembly and fitting of aerospace components and structures according to engineering drawings and specifications
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition
  • Carry out routine inspections and quality checks on assembled parts to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Work closely with skilled fitters and engineers to complete tasks efficiently and accurately
  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
  • Report any issues or defects identified during the fitting process to supervisors or quality control
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and product quality
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations

Person Specification:

  • Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with hand tools and power tools
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment, preferably in industry sectors such as Aerospace, automotive or machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills through on-the-job training
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods due to bench work duties, and lift moderate weight as required by the role
