We are seeking a passionate Mixed Methods User Researcher. This individual will lead impactful research that informs customer-focused design and strategic decision-making. The role involves working across product, design, and business functions to drive innovation and deliver actionable insights.
You’ll be a curious, analytical thinker with a strong background in both qualitative and quantitative research. This role requires someone who thrives in cross-functional environments, creating ongoing streams of insight and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
Key Responsibilities
Research Design and Delivery
- Plan and execute mixed-methods research aligned with business priorities.
- Select and apply appropriate methodologies for each project.
- Establish continuous insight practices across teams.
- Conduct qualitative interviews and usability testing (moderated & unmoderated).
- Analyse research data and distil into clear, relevant insights.
Influence and Communication
- Transform complex data into compelling narratives that inform decision-making.
- Produce visual reports and presentations for diverse stakeholders.
- Advocate for user-centred design and evidence-based strategy.
Operational Excellence
- Manage end-to-end research operations, including:
- Participant recruitment
- Budget oversight
- GDPR-compliant consent and NDA documentation
- Prioritise and coordinate research initiatives.
- Ensure high research quality and ethical standards.
- Mitigate bias throughout the research process.
Strategic Impact
- Develop personas and user journeys to support design and product strategy.
- Align research efforts with business objectives and KPIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed insights across the organisation.
Collaboration and Culture
- Work with Marketing, Engineering, and other departments to support their insight needs.
- Support non-researchers with guidance on research best practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of applied experience in user research within product/service design.
- Degree in Sociology, Psychology, Behavioural Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in mixed methods research and data triangulation.
- Strong understanding of research methodologies and their practical application.
- Skilled in qualitative data analysis and insight communication.
- Ability to influence stakeholders through effective storytelling.
- Experience using and evaluating research tools.
- Comfortable working in an agile, iterative environment.
- Able to manage multiple research projects concurrently.
