A rapidly scaling cybersecurity consultancy is looking to hire a Head of Penetration Testing to take ownership of a growing, high-performing offensive security function. This is a leadership role with deep hands-on responsibility, driving operational excellence, leading complex penetration testing engagements, and actively contributing to technical delivery, not just overseeing it.

The business is entering a major growth phase this year, with increasing global demand for its services. This role sits at the centre of that expansion, responsible for ensuring the penetration testing practice operates with clarity, consistency, and commercial discipline. You’ll lead a growing team of consultants also working closely with a senior technical leader who focuses on innovation, tooling, and emerging capabilities, while you take ownership of execution, team leadership, and operational performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the penetration testing function, driving day-to-day delivery, utilisation, and quality while staying hands-on with complex engagements.
  • Partner with Sales on scoping, ensure work is commercially sound, and build strong senior client relationships.
  • Act as the technical escalation point, uphold high reporting standards, and align delivery to industry best practice.
  • Develop and coach the team, support hiring, and shape capability growth.

What They’re Looking For

  • Strong background in penetration testing (web, infrastructure, cloud, APIs).
  • Experience leading teams or managing a security consulting function.
  • Solid understanding of offensive security tooling and methodologies.
  • Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders (CISO / leadership level).
  • Relevant certifications (such as OSCP, CREST, CRT).

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Leadership impact, shape and scale a growing practice.
  • Global exposure, work with international clients and teams.
  • Clear split of responsibilities, focus on delivery and operations while a separate leader drives innovation.
  • Strong growth environment, opportunity to influence structure, standards, and strategy.
  • Well-supported team with investment in development and capability.
