Application Development Manager | Tech Leadership Opportunity : Location: West Yorkshire (Hybrid 2 days)

Are you an experienced IT leader ready to drive application development in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment?

We’re looking for an Application Development Manager to lead a skilled team responsible for supporting both legacy and modern applications across key business functions including Finance, HR, Marketing, Logistics, and much much more.

What you’ll do:

• Lead, coach and manage a team delivering core business applications.
• Oversee support and development of legacy and cloud-based systems.
• Manage application lifecycle, project delivery, and service performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, architecture teams, and external suppliers.
• Ensure software quality, governance, and compliance standards are met.

What we’re looking for:

• 10+ years in enterprise application delivery and support.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional development teams.
• Strong knowledge of mainframe (COBOL/CICS) and distributed systems.
• Agile/PRINCE2 project management experience.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

Desirable:

• Experience in retail, logistics, or financial services.
• Familiarity with application modernisation and MSPs.
• ITIL, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications.
