G & D Higgins Mechanical Services Limited are a well-established mechanical services contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality work across commercial sites. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Multi-Skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our maintenance team, working across London client sites.
The role involves delivering planned and reactive mechanical and plumbing maintenance across commercial buildings. You will be working in plant rooms and boiler houses, carrying out fault-finding, repairs and minor works, while maintaining high standards of safety, documentation and client communication.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planned and reactive maintenance to mechanical and plumbing systems
- Fault-finding and repair of leaks, hot and cold water systems, pumps, valves and associated plant
- Maintenance of water heaters, hot water plant and distribution systems
- Working in line with RAMS, permit-to-work systems and site rules
- Accurate job recording using a CAFM system and clear communication with clients and the contracts team
- Supporting SLA and KPI delivery across allocated sites
What we are looking for:
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing or Mechanical Services, or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in commercial plumbing and plant room maintenance
- Strong fault-finding skills with a safety-first approach
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working across multiple sites and using mobile job systems
- Additional qualifications such as G3 Unvented, Legionella awareness or water regulations training are desirable but not essential, as training and certification can be supported.
Pre-employment checks: Please note that, as a number of our clients operate within highly regulated environments, the successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check prior to commencing employment.
Location and working hours: London based, mobile role across multiple client sites, Monday to Friday, with participation in an on-call rota. Salary: £44,000 - £48,000.
