Your Purpose
MSC is expanding its fleet, with new ships coming into service over the next few years. With this expansion, the number of Reportable Security Incidents will inevitably rise. The Fleet Security Investigation Manager will lead and manage the onboard security investigations, provide managerial oversight, and ensure quality assurance in all security incident-related matters. This includes high-level analysis, root cause investigation, specialist knowledge, and training. The Fleet Security Investigation Manager will sit within the Security Department at MSCCM Stockley Park Uxbridge and report to the Head of Security Investigations. This is an office-based position.
Your Impact
- Investigation Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the Security Incident Reporting Platform (SIRP) and oversee shipboard investigations to ensure accurate, timely reporting and recording of crimes and security incidents across the fleet. Provide managerial support outside of office hours when necessary.
- Strategic Advising: Advise on jurisdictional issues and best practices, providing high-level guidance on legal and procedural matters impacting crimes and security incidents across the fleet.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure all incidents are reported in compliance with Company, Flag, and jurisdictional requirements. Implement and monitor compliance protocols.
- Quality Assurance: Audit reports to ensure they meet ethical and professional investigation standards. Establish and maintain quality assurance processes.
- Training and Development: Monitor and enhance training programmes to ensure accurate reporting of each security incident and crime. Develop and deliver training sessions, guide, and support onboard investigators.
- Data Analysis and Mitigation: Analyse incident statistics, identify trends, and propose strategic mitigation plans to reduce security risks.
- Policy Development: Review and amend Security Standard Procedures related to Brand Protection. Develop and implement security policies.
- Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain and strengthen relationships with national and international law enforcement agencies, MSC Legal teams in the UK and globally, and other key stakeholders.
- Safeguarding Leadership: Apply the company’s safeguarding policy, liaise with the Shipboard Safeguarding Officer, and provide training where appropriate. Act as the contact for safeguarding concerns supporting the Company Safeguarding Officer.
- Drug Testing: Oversee and organise the Company’s Monthly Random Drug Tests, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
- Deputise for Head of Security Investigations: Support the Head of Security Investigations in their absence.
Your Journey so far
- At least 8 years as an investigator with a home Office police force or equivalent (Essential)
- Diverse policing experience which must include serious and complex crime (Essential)
- Lead investigator for serious sexual offences (Essential)
- Professionalising Investigation Programme Level 2 (Essential)
- Recognised Child and Adult Safeguarding qualification (Desirable)
- Experience in a position of Chief Security within the cruise industry (Desirable)
- Proficiency in MS Office with the ability to be trained on a bespoke crime reporting platform (Essential)
- English – C1 Language Levels according to CEFR – Common European Framework of Reference (Essential)
- Diplomatic approach to problem solving (Essential)
- Recognised experience in training delivery (Highly Desirable)
