We are currently recruiting for a March/April Start.
We are seeking a reliable part time school transport driver to join our team. The role will be 15 hours minimum per week during term time only. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of pupils, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle operation and maintenance, as well as excellent communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
Responsibilities:
- Transport your child/children between the home or designated pick-up point and school, safely and in time to start the school day.
- Some of our pupils have additional needs so drivers/escorts may be required to undertake additional training to aid with certain contracts.
- Wear an identification badge to confirm they have been DBS checked to an enhanced level and completed Safeguarding training.
- Look after the welfare of the children though be aware that it is not the passenger assistants or driver's role to administer routine medication or carry out routine medical procedures for any child in their care.
- Provide you with a contact number for use in relation to the operation of the contract.
- Report incidents, accidents and concerns about the children's welfare or behaviour as appropriate.
- Treat information provided to them with confidence.
- Be friendly, professional and give notice of planned changes.
- Ensure the safe operation of the vehicle. Driver needs to consider factors such as road conditions, pupil behaviour and safe transportation of wheelchairs.
The successful applicants will be required to obtain a taxi drivers badge which will include passing a DBS and a driving assessment. This is paid for by the company.
