ABOUT THE ROLE: The Site Services Operator role encompasses many aspects to help maintain the Whittlesey site. We are looking for hard workers that can use their initiative and work well both alone and as part of a small team. The role covers a range of tasks, from litter picking and helping to manage site waste, to landscaping around the site as well as covering occasional shifts in Security. Working around site with Mowers, Skid-Steer and Tractor will also be a part of this job. The Site Service Operator is integral in keeping the site clean and tidy; helping to create the right impression for visitors/auditors/colleagues when they come to site.
Key tasks of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Site Maintenance: Litter picking, weeding and grass cutting (seasonal); keeping the site in a good condition for all of us
- Liaising with Environmental Compliance to manage site waste- ordering skips and waste collections; sorting through WEEE waste and storing hazardous waste to ensure audit compliance
- Checking and replenishing spill kit usage throughout the site; ensuring paperwork is collected for audit compliance
- Maintaining an accurate list of the personal lockers on site and providing lockers for new starters
- Collecting packages from Dry Stores when required
Whilst not a day-to-day task of the Site Service Operator role, a requirement of the role will be to provide cover for Security on occasion, which is a 24/7/365 operation.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR… The ideal candidate will be someone who has experience of working in a similar role, who is self-motivated with excellent attention to detail. A current, valid forklift licence is essential, along with experience in operating tractors and JCBs.

WHAT HOURS WILL I WORK? The role is primarily Monday to Friday dayshift, 40 hours per week, with flexibility.
WHERE YOU’LL WORK? You'll be based at our Whittlesey plant in Peterborough. If you’ve spotted our three wind turbines, then you’ll know where we are! With about 350 employees on site, we’re one of our largest plants across the GB business. Our Whittlesey plant is where we make our famous French Fries as well as our chilled products, such as our Shake Shake Fries.
