What are we building? An AI Executive Assistant. Walk around the average office and you'll see people's days taken up by emails, Slack and meetings instead of real work. People in client facing roles - think sales, professional services firms, recruiters - feel this pain most acutely. Instead of advising and connecting with clients, they spend hours doing admin. Following up. Scheduling meetings, then taking notes on them. Answering questions they've been asked a thousand times. Sorting through the mess that is their inbox. We've built an AI executive assistant that looks at all your emails, messages and meetings, and uses that knowledge to answer your email, schedule meetings, take next steps from meetings and organise your inbox. We turn every employee into a top performer, effortlessly.
Unlike other startups, we're a pure-play applied AI company, not a SaaS company with AI features hastily bolted on! We make use of the best techniques (fine tuned open source models, tool use, and retrieval augmented generation) and as a result, users send 53% of the email drafts we generate.
How has it been going? We launched our product in March 2024. Since then we've gone from $0 to $4.5m in Annualised Recurring Revenue, from thousands of paid users. We spent 3 months in San Francisco at HF0, the best AI startup accelerator in the world, learning from experts like the CEO of Instacart, Head of Applied Research at OpenAI and the cofounder of Snowflake. We've now raised a Series A from a top firm to expand the team and fund rapid growth. We'll reach at least $15m in revenue by the end of 2025!
What do we value? We're very intentional about adding new people. We think a small team of exceptional people working hard at a problem they care about will always beat a larger, less focused team. That does mean you'll need to bring an intensity to this role that might not be asked at other companies. But it also means you will be fast tracked into more senior roles and responsibilities far earlier. We also believe in hiring people who want ownership and autonomy in their work, and giving it to them.
The Role: We're looking for someone to work closely with Matt, our CTO and Co-founder. The Technology function has grown from 2 to 8 team members in just two months and will continue to expand throughout 2025. So far, Matt has fostered an incredible culture of execution, ownership, and care within the team. You will play a key role in maintaining and further strengthening that culture. This is a hands-on EM role, we'll ask you to spend the first three months really understanding the code base, how the team operates and owning an area of the product (hands-on engineering work). This comes from the belief that it will be hard for you to have an impact in the role if you don't really understand the challenges the product engineers face every day. Matt and the rest of the team believe that the best software engineers are also product managers. They take full ownership of a product or feature, managing it end-to-end without relying on a traditional squad structure. This approach enables us to execute at speed, maintain high levels of accountability, and deeply understand the product. You'll play a key role in building the frameworks that will underpin how the team scales, from People structures such as progression frameworks & performance reviews to team structures, code reviews and product improvements.
Major responsibilities:
- Manage, mentor and support the product engineering team.
- Work with engineers to enhance their product thinking and technical skills.
- Implement best-in-class performance and development structures to build a high-performing team.
- Support the engineers to ruthlessly prioritise, ensuring they're working on the most impactful projects and tasks.
- Support the development & reliability of the current product by working closely with Matt and the rest of the business.
Skills & Experience What We're Looking For:
- You're an exceptional product engineer and able to own a key area for the first few months.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to implement high-growth, high-performance management structures, including career development, performance management, and goal setting.
- Proven ability to develop product engineers across commercial, product, and engineering disciplines.
What You Bring:
- Experience as an Engineering Manager (EM) at a larger technology company, where you've seen what great looks like.
- You've also built 0-1 structures in a smaller, fast-moving environment.
- A background as an exceptional product engineer.
- Experience working in a fast-growing, venture-backed technology or AI business.
Behaviours & Mindset:
- Hands-on approach - You can still jump into the codebase when needed and work closely with engineers.
- High empowerment, high ownership - You advocate for autonomy and accountability across the team.
- Relentless focus on performance - You drive continuous improvement in engineering excellence and execution.
Whats on offer:
- Salary £130,000 -£160,000 per annum
- Comprehensive healthcare through Vitality
- Free on-site gym
- Free lunches and after-hours meals in the office
- Pension scheme
- Nursery scheme
- And more to come
