Reports to: Sr. Manager, Accounting
We are looking for a Settlement Operations Analyst II to join our team. This role focuses on investigating and resolving settlement variances for complex clients to ensure accurate, automated reporting, invoicing, and payments. The analyst will also provide training and guidance to internal teams and external partners on the functionality and navigation of our transaction rating system. Gift card settlement transactions represent a significant portion of Blackhawk’s core revenue and involve complex data processing and reconciliation activities.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, investigate, and resolve reconciliation discrepancies and exception transactions, ensuring timely correction and re‑processing.
- Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve settlement queries, ensuring system set‑ups align with contractual terms and SLAs.
- Analyse settlement data by running and interrogating transactional reports, delivering clear insights and analytical outcomes.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally (Settlement, Accounting, IT, Onboarding, New Business and Project teams) to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Lead system training and knowledge sharing, supporting new joiners and stakeholders with reporting, research, and self‑service capabilities.
- Support financial controls through high‑volume balance sheet reconciliations, period‑end journals, and ad‑hoc activities in a fast‑paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Qualified or part‑qualified, or equivalent accounting experience, with strong reconciliation expertise.
- Proven ability to analyse, manipulate, and interpret large volumes of data accurately.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with the ability to understand processes end to end.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; strong SQL skills, with Access and Lucidchart experience desirable.
- Experience working with ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics.
- Highly self‑motivated and resourceful team player, able to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt in a rapidly changing environment, with strong communication skills.
