Supplier Quality Engineer
Swindon (3 days a week) | £35,000 – £45,000
Are you passionate about ensuring high-quality standards across a global supply chain? Do you have the expertise to drive supplier excellence and resolve quality issues at the source? We’re looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in supplier management, quality assurance, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Investigate and resolve supplier-related quality issues, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead Material Review Board (MRB) and Change Review Board (CRB) activities to manage non-conforming materials and supplier-related changes.
- Conduct supplier audits to assess product quality, manufacturing processes, and regulatory compliance (ISO/TS 16949, VDA6).
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and production teams to ensure supplier performance aligns with business goals.
- Establish and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor supplier quality metrics and drive improvements.
- Ensure all supplier documentation, including quality certificates and audit reports, is up-to-date and well-organised.
- Evaluate potential new suppliers based on capabilities, quality management systems, and adherence to industry standards.
What We’re Looking For:
- Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards (ISO/TS 16949, VDA6).
- Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse defects and implement long-term quality improvements.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
