A dynamic, leading boutique data strategy consultancy is seeking a Principal Data Consultant with a strong data governance background. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on interesting and complex data strategy and transformation projects. You will engage with a wide variety of clients, from large enterprises and small start-ups to niche charities, taking ownership of projects across the full lifecycle.
The Role
In this client-facing Principal Data Consultant role, you will lead and drive high-impact strategic data governance initiatives for clients. You will work across, and lead, a range of client projects spanning data governance, data strategy development, data maturity assessments, and data literacy initiatives, alongside more technical data and analytics projects. On a day-to-day basis, you will act as the client's primary point of contact, lead workshops with senior stakeholders, define scope of work, and manage project plans. You will also mentor and guide more junior team members when required. In addition, you will have the opportunity to apply your hands-on data skills, whether through coding, supporting data migrations, or assisting with data integration. This is a varied and engaging role that will draw on your broad and deep knowledge of data to help solve complex client problems and deliver meaningful outcomes. This role requires a hands-on doer, not just a 'thought leader'.
What do you need?
To be considered, you will have a strong background in managing and delivering complex and/or strategic data projects across the full lifecycle, with particular emphasis on data governance initiatives. Ideally, you will have experience within a client-facing consultancy environment and be able to evidence success across strategy, advisory and solution delivery engagements. You will have experience creating data strategies and be highly familiar with data maturity assessments, data vision development, use case and value mapping, and data literacy programmes. From a technical perspective, you will bring exposure to, or experience in, designing, building and configuring end-to-end analytics solutions. This includes writing basic code (for example SQL or Python), data modelling, data migration, and an understanding of general IT architecture and systems integration. Strong documentation skills are also essential. You will bring a genuine passion for data, along with excellent communication and presentation skills up to CxO level. You will be comfortable building trusted advisor relationships. Commercial exposure to developing and delivering proposals, presentations or bids is desirable. You must also be a self-starter who can take ownership of projects and lead teams to achieve agreed goals and objectives.
What is on offer?
This is a hybrid role offering a high degree of flexibility, with remote working alongside office attendance in London Bridge one to two days per week for collaboration. There may also be occasional visits to client sites and the group HQ in Surrey. The role offers a competitive salary, depending on experience, in the range of £75,000 to £90,000, plus an annual bonus of approximately £5,000 to £8,000 (paid quarterly). Additional benefits include private medical insurance, a contributory matched pension up to 5%, 25 days' holiday, and other benefits. If you are a Senior Data Consultant ready to step up, or a Principal Data Consultant seeking an exciting new challenge, apply now. Interviews are taking place immediately.
