I’m working with a leading organisation looking for a Senior Security Engineer (Team Lead) to take ownership of a dedicated security engineering function within a highly regulated environment.
This is a senior hands-on leadership role combining security engineering, platform ownership, technical leadership and people management. You’ll be the escalation point for complex security issues, helping shape security capability and drive continual improvement across the environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of security engineers and analysts
- Act as the technical escalation point for complex incidents and platform issues
- Own the configuration, optimisation and lifecycle management of security platforms
- Drive improvements across detection, automation and security operations
- Support SOC teams with investigations, threat response and technical guidance
- Maintain engineering standards, documentation and security best practice
Essential Experience:
- Strong background in Security Engineering / Cyber Defence
- Hands-on experience with the Microsoft Security stack, including: Microsoft Defender XDR, Defender for Endpoint, Microsoft Sentinel, KQL
- Experience with SIEM engineering, detection tuning and log ingestion
- Understanding of SOAR, automation and security tooling integrations
- Experience working across hybrid cloud environments (Azure/on-prem)
- Strong stakeholder management and technical leadership skills
- Experience within regulated environments (government, financial services, CNI or similar) and UK security clearance eligibility would be highly desirable.
