We’re looking for an experienced ERP Technical Lead to take ownership of the technical delivery, stability, and evolution of Microsoft Business Central, leading a small ERP development team and working closely with the Head of Engineering and senior business stakeholders.
This is a hands‑on position where we’re looking for someone who is looking to step into a leadership role but is still 80%+ hands‑on who enjoys being close to the code while also setting direction, improving standards, and ensuring the ERP platform supports the wider business as it scales.
You’ll act as the technical authority for Business Central, responsible for both day‑to‑day delivery and longer‑term platform health. You’ll lead by example, shaping how ERP development is done while remaining actively involved in design and build work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining AL extensions, integrations, and reports
- Ensuring high standards around code quality, performance, security, and testing
- Driving pragmatic, scalable solutions across finance, operations, and core business processes
Technical leadership & mentoring
- Providing day‑to‑day technical leadership for a small ERP development team
- Running code reviews, offering technical guidance, and supporting developer growth
- Setting and evolving ERP development standards and best practices
Stakeholder collaboration
- Working closely with the Head of Engineering, Product, Finance, and Operations
- Translating business requirements into robust, well‑architected technical solutions
- Acting as a trusted technical partner to non‑technical stakeholders
Operational excellence
- Owning production support for Business Central, including incident response and root‑cause analysis
- Improving deployment pipelines, monitoring, and overall ERP reliability
- Proactively identifying risks, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement
Platform & engineering alignment
- Partnering with engineering leadership on ERP roadmap and technical direction
- Contributing to wider engineering practices where ERP integrates with the broader platform
